About the projectThe European Union and its Member States want to preserve and develop their leading position and the European economy, which is characterised by dynamic technological changes. It is important that European employees and citizens develop their ICT skills and are familiar with social and community media tools as means of self-expression and communication. The handbook which you have in your hands features information and didactic materials concerning and is created for youth workers, multipliers, interested citizens who want to engage in the non-formal political, medial and intercultural education. MediaTrainer course has been developed as a core element of our «EU-Trainer for ICT and Media Competences» project, which is part of the Lifelong Learning Programme. The project aims to develop, test and disseminate the modular vocational training created and to try to embed it in the professional development programmes of the partner countries: Belgium, Cyprus, Germany, Finland, Poland, Romania, Turkey and United Kingdom. This process will be conducted by the European Youth4media Network e.V. and the Federal Association of Public and Educational Media in other European countries. The Europe-wide modular vocational education will result in a recognised qualification, with cross-border recognition ensuring its validity in any participating country.
